The Devil’s Disciple

Gingold Theatrical Group

Arms and the Man revolves around a pursued soldier who, seeking shelter in a young woman's bedroom, sets off a chain of delightfully improbable comic situations. His unconventional views on love, sex, war, and life introduce her to new ideas, and together, they joyfully embrace the future.

Framed within an old colonial house, discovered by a modern American, this all-female casted adaptation tells Shaw’s story both within the text, and stepping out into the modern day. Underscored by revolutionary fife and drum music, the play benefits from a broad range of offstage effects to create visceral sensations of impending troops.
